The goal of Q.E.D. – the Quality Initiative E-Learning in Germany – is to improve the quality of work process oriented e-learning in Germany. The research project deals on the one hand with further education processes, taking e-learning into account, and on the other hand with the processes, methods and instruments of quality management and quality assurance. The goal is the development and establishment of innovative learning scenarios and international quality standards in e-learning. Under the consortium leadership and overall project management of the chair of "Business Information Technology of Producing Companies" at the University of Duisburg-Essen, the project partners (DIN Deutsches Institut fuer Normung e.V., FBD Bildungspark gGmbH, Fraunhofer-Institut IAO, IBM Deutschland GmbH and T Systems Multimedia Solutions GmbH) therefore work together to research and develop quality standards, quality models and suitable tools. The practicality and practicability of the findings and the tools are ensured through close co-operation with the application partners from the business sector as well as through close co-operation with the two other LERNET projects: "Content Sharing" and "Explain". In particular in the two application fields of "Rich Media Content", especially in learning scenarios, and of "Mobile Learning or Nomadic Learning", concepts and tools are created for the exchange and reuse of content offerings as well as for the localisation of services. This is done with a particular view to making existing learning resources and infrastructures usable in new contexts by means of appropriate reprocessing and innovative deployment scenarios.
The Q.E.D. project will achieve its goals in four sub-projects, which are closely interrelated:
Further information on the individual sub-projects can be found in corresponding sub-project descriptions on our web site.
